"FRIENDS OF UTE VALLEY PARK" THANKS!:

The Friends of Ute Valley Park had a successful drive last Saturday and collected vital and timely information for a meeting with the City of Colorado Springs.  This data had never before been collected and shows the city that "FUVP" is an organized group that maintains the park we all love and enjoy.  Christine Thomas, FUVP Volunteer Coordinator & friendly Pinecliff neighbor thanks all who participated.  Stay tuned for additional projects coming soon.

TRASH TIME:

Patience has paid off and we are finally ready to roll out the Bestway trash bins.  If you choose to participate in the "Unified Trash Service" for Pinecliff HOA members, you can now sign-up easily on our website (www.Pinecliff-HOA.com) under "About the HOA" or (click here) -- kudos to Steve Shumway our awesome webmaster!  If you have already "signed up" or sent in money, we need you to turn in a  signed agreement (found on the website or click here). Payment can be made through Paypal on the website, or you can mail it in.  Please sign the Agreement and mail it to Pinecliff Homeowners' Association, PO Box 49372, Colorado Springs, CO 80949-9372, OR fax it to 590-7676 OR scan and email it to trashservice@pinecliff-HOA.  

There is a FAQ page that addresses many of the questions we have received, so please check there first for any questions you may have.  Any additional questions can be directed to Leonie Cramer our Trash Coordinator at trashservice@pinecliff-HOA.com or (719)272-9808.  Thanks to Leonie who is volunteering her time and talents for this major project!

Based on the feedback we have received, we plan to have a lot of participation and this will save us all a lot of money!  This project has required a lot of time to roll it out properly, so thanks to all who have invested their time and talents to a very worthy effort! 

60ft MICROWAVE TOWER IN OUR BACKYARD:

We have recently learned that the Colorado Springs Planning Department has approved an application from J.R. Engineering to construct a 60-foot microwave tower and satellite dish farm at the new location of KOAA-TV.  The street address of their new location is 5520 Tech Center Drive which is about 300 yards directly north of the northeastern end of Golden Hills Road.  Only residents in the Vista Ridge area of Pinecliff have received a notice from the Planning Department about the application.  Because of the unobstructed direct line of sight and close proximity of the new tower to Pinecliff homes along the northern ridge of Golden Hills, several Pinecliff residents have sent emails to the Planning Department voicing their concerns about the aesthetic impact of the tower and the unknown health risks from prolonged exposure to high power electromagnetic radiation. 

Per the standard Planning Department processes, any citizen can file an appeal of the approval, however there is a deadline of 4pm on February 8th for any appeals.  Residents wanting more information can review both the application and site drawings on the Colorado Springs Planning Department website linked below.  Anyone who wants more information or cares to share their concerns is welcome to contact Stephen Barber, President of the Vista Ridge HOA at vistaridgehoa@aol.com.
